George Reed Davis interview, 1867.

In his reminiscence (1896), George Davis discusses the circumstances surrounding the death of John Bozeman in 1867. Goerge Reed "Crow" Davis was a native of New York, born about 1824. He served in an Iowa regiment during the Civil War. In 1867, he was an employee and interpreter for the U.S. Government during the negotiations of a treaty with the Crow Indians at Fort Laramie, Wyoming. He married into the Crow tribe and was given the name "Yellow Tobacco." He died March 2, 1919, at the home of his daughter Margaret Howe in St. Xavier.
